Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct

Recognizing that parents/guardians are the most important role models for their children, and that youth sports help to develop a sense of teamwork, self worth and sportsmanship, I agree to abide by the following:

  • I will foster good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice, or other sports event.

  • I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child before a personal desire to win.

  • I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.

  • I will advocate a sports environment for my child that is free of drugs, tobacco, alcohol, abusive language and will refrain from their use during youth sports events.

  • I will remember that the game is for the youth - - not for adults.

  • I will endeavor to make youth sports enjoyable for my child.

  • I will encourage my child to play by the rules and respect the rights of other players, coaches, fans and officials.

I/we understand that OCRD can, and will, if necessary, clear the facility of all spectators and possibly suspend or forfeit games due to any inappropriate or offensive behavior that could affect the well being of our youth participants.

Coach Code of Conduct

Recognizing that coaches are role models for not only their team members but all participants involved in the league, and that youth sports help to develop a sense of teamwork, self worth and sportsmanship, I agree to abide by the following:

  •  I will place the emotional and physical well being of my players ahead of a personal desire to win.

  •  I will treat each player as an individual, remembering the large range of differences in emotional and physical development for the same age group.

  • I will do my best to provide a safe playing situation for my players.

  • I will do my best to organize practices that are fun and challenging for all of my players.

  • I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all my players.

  • I will provide a sports environment for my team that is free of drugs, tobacco, alcohol, and abusive language and I will refrain from their use at all youth sports events.

  • I will be knowledgeable of the league rules and regulations, and teach these rules to all players on my team.

  • I will remember that I am a youth sports coach, and that the game is for the children and not the adults.

  • I will encourage my team members to play by the rules and respect the rights of other players, coaches, fans and officials.

  • I understand that as a coach, I am responsible for not only my own behavior but also the behavior of my team members, their parents, and fans at all league events.

I understand that OCRD Staff can, and will if necessary, suspend my coaching privilege should I behave in a manner that is rude or otherwise offensive.
